Works and lives in The Hague, Holland, where he was born in 1955. Drawing has always been an important part of his life. He is for 100 percent self-taught. His paintings are in oil, mainly on canvas, sometimes on panel or paper. He loves cars, especially cars dating back to the years 1955 – 1975. Yet it took him till 1983 before bringing his love for art and for cars together. In that particular year –while taking an old car to the scrap yard- he discovered there was beauty in car wrecks. He started to study the objects and soon realised that this was the theme he had been looking for for a long time. All this resulted into a period dominated by paintings of car wrecks but gradually there is also the need to paint (classic) cars that are still in use. This current art work consists of cars in all sorts of states, from wreck to fully restored. Needless to add there is an obvious preference for the Citroën DS.
